If you are new to stamping, the best advice I can offer is to “keep it simple.” Getting started in any hobby or interest can be overwhelming. Where do I start and what do I need? To get started, you need three things: stamps, ink and paper.
STAMPS
Pick one or two stamp sets that appeals to you, but yet provides versatile images. Remember, it’s your first time stamping. One of the ones I recommend for new stampers is “Blossoms in Bloom” or “In Bloom.”
INK
You will need a few ink pads to get started. A Momento Tuxedo Black Pad (132708) is a good general purpose ink for stamping images and greetings. The 2021-2023 In Color Stamp Pad Collection (155638) provides one each of: Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.
PAPER
Basic White Cardstock (159276) is a staple in stamping. If you are interested in colored cardstock, consider the 2021-2023 In Colors to match your ink. This includes 4 sheets of each of the colors: Pale Papaya, Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Evening Evergreen and Soft Succulent.
Other supplies you may want to consider includes a Paper Snip Scissors, Paper Trimmer, Simply Shammy to clean your stamps, clear blocks to mount your stamps, and white envelopes to mail your cards.
The clear blocks are sold in a set saving you 10% or each block can be sold separately. Each stamp set will list what blocks are recommended for mounting your stamps. Remember, the blocks are reusable. Once you use your stamp and clean it, you will store it back in it’s case.
