Have you ever used elements of text to create backgrounds for your cards? I enjoy over laying elements of text and stamped images. This is a simple technique that creates unique background layers and contributes to creative card making!
In previous videos, you may have seen me stamp an image on an inside layer and then stamp the sentiment over the image. However, today, I am going to add elements of text to create a background before over laying the text with a stamped image or die cut. I will be using the Elements of Text Stamp Set paired with the Mixed Florals Bundle. The Elements of Text Stamp Set offers a variety of texts and shapes that can be used to create unique backgrounds for your cards.
Add Elements of Text To Create a Background

In the card above, I used Night of Navy for the card base. I chose Basic White and Smoky Slate for the layers. For the background, I chose to create a tone-on-tone background. I stamped the text using Smoky Slate on a Smoky slate layer. Next I stamped a floral image using Night of Navy. I love the look of the dark floral outline as an overlay to the text. After adding my greeting, I used the Night of Navy from the Opal Rounds Assortment as embellishments.

On the inside of my card, I reversed the layers and simply stamped a partial floral image in the lower right corner of the Basic White layer. Truly, a stamps, ink and paper card!
Below, I used a stamp with a different shape and font. Again, I stamped the text using Smoky Slate, but this time I stamped on a Basic White layer. I used Blueberry Bushel to stamp the floral image as an overlay to the text.

For the last card, I used Pretty Peacock for the card base, but stayed with Basic White and Smoky Slate for my layers. I, again, used a tone-on-tone for my element of text. However, this time I added a distinctive die cut from the Mixed Florals Dies.
