Key Points to Creating Beautiful Butterflies Greeting Cards
Adding A “Pop” of Color
To make the greeting cards “pop,” I used a Basic White card base with a Basic Black layer. The black layer provides a sharp contrast against the embossed butterfly details and the soft hues of the Bokeh Designer Series Paper. In addition, I used Basic Black to die cut butterflies, as well as, my greeting. The boldness of the black layer and die cuts enhances the elegance and vibrancy of the card, making it an eye-catching design.
Die Cutting Two Butterflies at Once
In my video tutorial, I demonstrate how to use the two largest butterfly dies to create two die cuts simultaneously:
- A detailed butterfly with fine cutouts
- A butterfly outline that frames your design
By using this technique, I not only saved time, I add more dimension to my cards and create two cards at once with minimal effort.
Embossing for Extra Texture
To elevate the design, I used the Beautiful Butterflies Hybrid Embossing Folder to emboss a layer of Bokeh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The soft hues of the embossed details create stunning textures, giving your card an elegant finish.
