Today, I am sharing two easy card layouts that resulted from a color challenge that I did with a group of “stampin’ friends.” The colors were Blackberry Bliss, Moody Mauve and Old Olive. Immediately, I reached for my Stampin’ Up! Inked & Tiled. This is one of my all time favorite stamp sets. I like the simplicity and versatility of the images. The possibilities are, truly, endless! At the end of this post, you will see several more cards using these two easy card layouts!

The Original Design Layout

The only way I can explain it, is that I wanted to “stamp off” and overlap my images to create a piece of art. I just wanted to play and see what I could do. I started out by using a 4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Basic White. The leaf and large floral image were the focus of my stamping and within a few minutes I had, exactly, what I wanted. Next, I tried adding a piece of Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper in Moody Mauve. I liked that, too! But what if I could add some texture? I duplicated that layer, but this time, I embossed the piece of Designer Series Paper using the Distressed Tile Embossing Folder. I added a sentiment and bow to cover the ends of the stems.

On the inside of, both, cards, I added a strip of matching card stock and DSP.

Second Design Layout

For the second layout, I used the largest rectangle from the Radiating Stitches Dies. I stamped the same as I did for the first design. But, here, I stamped the sentiment directly on the layer. I added a bow using Moody Mauve 3/8″ Textured Ribbon. For the inside of the card, I stamped the leaves once and, then, a second time without re-inking. I finished up by stamping the floral image. Easy, peasy and my card was done.

In the video below, you will see how I made, both, cards. I’ll give you tips for stamping the images, as well as, stamping around the edge of the Radiating Stitches die cuts. Further down in the post, you will see several more samples of cards, supplies, and a downloadable PDF with measurements. Please leave me a comment and let me know what you think of these two easy card layout with the Inked & Tiled stamp set.
