Today’s cards are truly unbelievably whimsical! I’m going to show you how to make three fun folds using Stampin’ Up!’s Playing In The Rain Bundle. Playing In the Rain has three darling images that melt your heart: the hare, the fox and the tortoise. Paired with the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper and you are set to make three quick and easy fun fold cards!
The basic recipe for all three Playing In the Rain Fun Folds are the same. I was able to make three cards in an hour by simply using the dies to cut the images of the “critters” from the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper. By changing up the colors, the “critter,” and some of the other die cuts., I was able to change the total look of the card. I love how they turned out. Each one looks as though it is telling a story or relaying a message.

While the video demonstrates how easy it is to make one of the cards, you will, no doubt, see how quick it is to make three Playing In the Rain Fun Folds. Further down in the post, you will see each of the cards with tips, measurements. There is a downloadable tutorial with measurements for all three and instructions for the card in the video. Leave me a comment. I would love which one you like best!
Playing In the Rain Fun fold – Tortoise
I used Old Olive for the card base as it paired well with the colors of the Rain or Shine DSP and the tortoise. The clouds were fussy cut from a scrap piece of Designer Series Paper. I used the dies from the bundle to cut the grasses and tree stump. The Loose Daisy Embellishments added a sweet touch to the front of the card. I always try to make use of even partial die cuts. With that said, I used a partial die cut of the tortoise on the inside.

Playing in the rain fun fold – hare
For my second card, I used Mango Melody for the card base. I love the look with the floral and paint splattered look from the Rain or Shine Designer Series Paper. This card was basically the same as above except that I die cut the bridge in place of the tree stump. The puddle and flowers were colored using Stampin’ Blends and a Brushed Brass Butterfly was used for the finishing touch. I used the Something Fancy Stamp set for my internal greeting.

Playing In the rain fun fold – fox
On my third Playing In the Rain Fun Fold, I chose a raindrop pattern with a touch of glossy coating. The glossy coating adds a realistic look to the raindrops. I cut clouds using the dies from the bundle from the same paper. Color was added to the puddles using a Blender Pen. Again, I used a partial die cut of the tortoise on the inside and finished with a sentiment from the Something Fancy Stamp set.
