Tips & Tricks for Heat Embossing & Descriptive Die Cuts

Tips & Tricks #1: To create bold greetings, I heat embossed using Versamark and Early Espresso Classic Ink Pad. After stamping, I simply covered my stamped sentiment with Clear Embossing Powder. Next, I used my heat tool to set the ink and powder. These card making tips ensure a smooth outcome.
Tip & Trick #2: Descriptive die cuts such as the word “wishing” make it difficult to use foam adhesive. Instead, I die cut 3-4 of the same die cut and adhere them together with glue. I then adhere my die cut greeting to the top. This makes it easy to glue the greeting to the card front. You have now added dimension and texture to your card, thanks to these card making tips and tricks!
Tips & Tricks For Applying Vellum

Adhering vellum to card stock has always been a challenge. It either doesn’t stick and lifts up or I can see the adhesive through my layer of vellum, which is a common issue in card making.
Recently, I starting using a silicone basting brush to apply my liquid glue. I found this on Amazon. I simply trim the bristles of the brush shorter and have perfect results every time! Once you’re done, simply rinse the brush under warm water or once the glue dries, simply peel it off the bristles. These card making tips and tricks make working with vellum easy.
Tips & Tricks For Dressing The Envelope

Consider “dressing” your envelope. Together, with your card, you will create a beautiful piece of stationary. Here, I used a coordinating piece of vellum on the envelope flap. But then, I took it to the next level by adding a 2 1/4″ x 5 3/4″ piece on the inside of my envelope. These tips and tricks enhance the overall look of your card making projects.
There are several other ways to “dress” your envelope: stamp an image, adhere Designer Series Paper, or dry emboss the envelope flap! Discover more card making tips and tricks for variety.
