Today, I decided to share an easy card called the Dutch Door Fold. I love the design of this card and the fact that you can literally make it in minutes! The card below is literally stamps, ink and paper. Easy peasy! However, further down in the post, I have an example of a Dutch Door Fold where I used a circular die cut for the front panel of the card.

I am, also, sharing this fun fold design in the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators November Fun Fold Blog Hop. The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

I chose to use the Pretty Petals Photopolymer Stamp Set. This is a two-step stamp set with a distinctive design to the stamped images. Truly, one of my new favorites. For the card base, I used Early Expresso and paired it with a pattern from the Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper. I used the same patterned paper on the flap of my envelope. I love that the matching card and envelope create a beautiful piece of stationary!

On the inside the Dutch Door Fold, I stamped a partial image in the lower right corner of the Basic White layer. This allowed continuity in carrying through the stamped image from the card front.

A second option could have been to add a 3/8″ x 4″ matching strip of Designer Series Paper to the lower edge of the Basic White inside layer.

Dutch Door Fold Video Tutorial

In the video tutorial below, I demonstrate step-by-step how to create an easy Dutch Door Fold. Below, you will find the link for a downloadable PDF including the link to the video tutorial, photos, measurements, instructions and supplies. I hope you are inspired to give this fold a try and attempt to create a Dutch Door Fold yourself! Additional Dutch Door Folds

Below, I created an Easy Dutch Door Fold using the Iconic Imagery Stamp Set and Iconic Celebrations 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Instead of using the panel cut from the card base, I used a die cut circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. I stamped the upper half of the Basic White inside layer with the Falling Snow background stamp.

For my last Dutch Door Fold, I used the More Than Autumn Bundle and Iconic Celebrationos 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. Here, I incorporated “paper piecing” on the cup.

  1. What a gorgeous card, Kathi! Wow, I love the fold but it’s the stamp set that you have sold me on! Wow, I never gave it a serious look till this moment. It’s beautiful in those colors. Thank you so much for joining the blog hop and I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving!

  2. Kathi, I’ve downloaded the pdf (thank you) and have marked the video to watch later. Love your card and the DSP you used. If I can make it in 10 minutes or less, I’ll enter it in the As You Like It speed challenge. TFS.
