Today, I am participating in Kylie Bertucci’s International Blog Highlights Winner’s Hop. Thank you to all who voted for my card. I truly appreciate your support. The theme for today’s card is an expression of thanks. I decided to create a double embossed note of thanks. I love using different techniques with my cards. When you get to the end of my post, please “hop” along with me to see the creations of the other winners of the hop!
Note of Thanks
Double embossing is an easy way to create an interesting background with texture and shine. You simply ink you layer with Versamark Ink, cover with Clear Embossing Powder and use you heat tool to set the powder. Next, you dry emboss the layer with an embossing folder of your choice. Below, you will find a link to a previous video demonstrating the technique.
I chose to use Orchid Oasis card stock with one of the upcoming Online Exclusive Basics 3D Embossing Folders. The embossing folder I used reminded be of “bubbles.” Images and greetings are from the Sending Smiles stamp set. Balmy Blue was used for the card base and layer. I liked the contrast of Daffodil Delight and Parakeet Party against the double embossed Orchid Oasis background.
Measurements
- Balmy Blue
- 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″ (card base)
- 3″ x 4 1/4″ (layer)
- Orchid Oasis
- 4″ x 5 1/4″ (double embossed layer)
- Basic White
- 2 3/4″ x 4″ (stamped layer)
- 4″ x 5 1/4″ (inside layer)
- scrap (stamping/die cutting)
Watch the video below for instructions on how to do double embossing. Leave me a comment. I would love to hear what you think of this technique.
I hope you enjoyed my card and the double embossing technique. Now, let’s “hop” along to other beautiful greetings of thanks from talented demonstrators from around the world.
