Have you ever used Stampin’ Up!’s Decorative Masks? If not, the decorative masks are an unbelievable cardmaking hack! Today, I am using Stampin’ Up!’s Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks from the 2023 January – April Mini Catalog. I love these masks. The floral image consists of four separate layers to create a flower with leaves, The second image, I am calling hashtags for lack of a better word. This mask creates backgrounds for your cards. Decorative masks are easy to use and require little in supplies. You simply need blending brushes or daubers and ink pads and you are set to go!

I chose to use two different colors for each the floral image and the leaves. The flower base is Daffodil Delight while the accent is Calypso Coral. You can make the colors as light or dark as you want just by the amount of color you lay down. For the leaves, I used Pear Pizzazz and Granny Apple Green. I used a Granny Apple Green layer of Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper and finished with a greeting from Charming Sentiments.

Sometimes, I like something other than Designer Series paper or an embossed background. The larger mask in the Loveliest Layers Decorative Masks is perfect. For lack of a better term, I call this decorative mask, “hashtags.” I used Daffodil Delight and Mango Melody. Each color was laid down in a different direction. Such a quick and easy “hack” to create a lovely background. I finished the card off with stamped and die cut images from Art Gallery.
