Learn How To Heat Emboss In Any Color Ink

Did you know that you can heat emboss in any color? Well you can and you can do it easily! All you need is Versamark Ink, a Classic Color ink pad, clear embossing powder, a stamp and you are ready to go! By using your Classic color ink pads you open up a world of possibilities for colors without a ton of colored embossing powder. Heat embossing with your Classic ink pads adds texture, deeper color, and interest to your cards.

Below, I used the Timeless Charms Bundle and Tailor Made Tags dies. The background image on the Basic White Tailor Made Tag is heat embossed using Daffodil Delight, while the leaves were heat embossed using Lost Lagoon. Next, I heat embossed the floral image using Tuxedo Black Momento ink. Finally, I colored the floral image using Stampin’ Blends Flirty Flamingo and Daffodil Delight. The colors matched the background layer of Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper. I embossed the Flirty Flamingo tag with a Basics 3D Embossing Folder. Linen thread was used for the bow and an Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel was used for the center of the flower.

Steps For Heat Embossing in Any Color

You will need Versamark Ink, Classic Ink pads in the colors you choose, clear embossing powder and your stamps.

1. Prep paper with Embossing Buddy prior to stamping.
2. Ink stamp in Versamark Ink.
3. Ink stamp in color of choice using a Classic Ink pad.
4. Stamp image.
5. Sprinkle Clear Embossing powder over the image, ensuring it is completely covered.
6. Use heat tool to set the embossing powder and ink.

• Basic White Thick
  • 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ (card base)
• Flirty Flamingo
  • 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ (layer 1)
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″ (embossed/die cut, sentiment matte, inside strip)
• Basic White
  • 4 ” x 5 1/4″ (inside layer)
  • 2 1/4″ x 4″ (die cut)
  • scraps (stamping)
• Hello Irresistible Designer Series Paper
  • 4″ x 5 1/4″ (layer 2)
  • 1/2″ x 5 1/4″ (inside strip 2)

Additional Card Using Translucent Florals

In the card above, I used the Translucent Florals Bundle. I heat embossed the leaves using Pretty Peacock and the floral images using Moody Mauve. These colors were taken from my background layer of Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.
