Today, I am sharing a Squeeze Box Fun Fold. I, absolutely, love this card. I first saw this card made by Susan Campfield. This design is one-of-a-kind and is one of my favorites. The name “squeeze box” comes from the movement of the card. Thus, if you hold the front and back of the card moving it toward the center and back out, again, the movement resembles an accordion or concertina. I can easily relate to this because as a child, I played accordion. My father would remind me that I needed to practice my “squeeze box.”

I am, also, sharing this fun fold design in the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators October Fun Fold Blog Hop. The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

Squeeze Box Fun Fold Card Design

At first sight, the Squeeze Box Fun Fold, looks like any other card that fits in a standard A2 envelope. However, when you open the card for display, the magic happens! In the card below, I used the Regal Winter 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder & Wanted To Say Dies provided added texture and dimension. To finish up the outside, I used the Opal Rounds Assortment to embellish the card front.

I used Night of Navy for the front and back sections of the card. Since the Designer Series Paper was bold and eye-catching, I wanted to keep the front of the card clean and simple. By using a die cut sentiment from the Wanted To Says Dies, I was able to achieve a clean look to my card.

For the centerfold, I used Basic White measuring 11″ x 4 3/4 scored at 2 3/4″, 5 1/2″ and 8 1/4″. I added a Basic White layer embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing folder on the front and back panels of the centerfold. For the front panel, I added a matching strip of the Regal Winter Designer Series Paper. On the back panel, I stamped the flower from the Love & Strength Cling Stamp Set . After coloring the flower with Stampin’ Blends, I “fussy cut” it out and “popped” in on with Dimensionals. The center panels were layered on Night of Navy. I used sentiments from the Hooray for Surprises Stamp Set.

  1. Beautiful card, Kathi! I love the pretty papers and the great texture to make the fun fold so special. This fold makes the card perfect to display for their “birthday season.” Thank you for joining the blog hop this month.
