This week, I am focusing on Stampin’ Up! Wishes All Around Bundle. This is different, as I usually don’t focus on one stamp set or bundle over the course of a week. This bundle wasn’t on my radar during my first pass through the holiday catalog. But, the more I looked at it, the more ideas that came to mind. I am certainly glad that I took a second look! I have so enjoyed this bundle, that I wanted to share a variety of ways in which you can easily use it to spread holiday cheer. With that said, today’s post is Part 1 of a three part series. Today, we will focus on using the “greenery” wreath die.
Wishes All Around Card Design – Part 1
I started off with a standard 5 1/2″ xx 8 1/2″ card base using Lost Lagoon. Next, I added a Basic White layer dry embossed with the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder. This embossing folder has easily become one of my favorites for the holidays. I chose to cut two wreaths, one from Pretty Peacock and one using Lost Lagoon Soft Shimmer Specialty Paper. Now, I could have just as easily used Lost Lagoon card stock, and in fact, I did on a second card. There was very little difference in the how the card looked.
Next, I layered the wreaths, offsetting them, so that, both, colors were visible. Afterwards, I adhered the wreath directly to the embossed layer. My adhesive of choice was Multipurpose Glue with a needle point tip. For the sentiment, I stamped the greeting on a 3/4″ strip of Basic White using Pretty Peacock. I used the Real Red Basic Enamel Effects for the berries. The only drawback is that I had to set it aside to dry and be careful not to “bump” it. A second option would have been to color Iridescent Pearls with a Real Red Stampin Blends marker. Finally, I added a Real Red bow.
wishes All Around Card Inside – Part 1
I kept the inside of the card simple. Pretty Peacock was used to stamp the sentiment. I die cut two pieces of greenery and, again, added the berries using the Real Red Enamel Effects.
In the video below, you will see how easy it is to make a card using the Wishes All Around Bundle. There are tips for using the dies and Enamel Effects.
