Are you looking to make your own holiday cards, but wanting something quick, easy to make and “eye-catching?” If so, I have just the card for you! You can make an easy holiday card with the Merriest Trees Bundle by Stampin’ Up! While this bundle has so many options with stamps and a variety of die cuts, today, I have an easy card you can either make in minutes or mass produce!
Easy Holiday Card Design
I chose Real Red for my card base. Next, I used the largest of the Deckled Rectangles to cut the Basic White layer. I, then, embossed the rectangle using the Christmas Tidings Embossing Folder. If preferred, you can easily emboss the Basic White layer without die cutting a rectangle.
The evergreen tree is a two-step stamp. I stamped the smooth base using Shaded Spruce. I wanted the branches of the evergreen to appear snow covered, as this would provide added texture and dimension. So, once the stamped image was dry, I went over it lightly with an embossing buddy. To achieve the look of snow on the branches, I stamped the detailed portion of the evergreen with Versamark Ink, sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder and used my heat tool to set. I love the way it turned out!
The base of the tree was die cut from a scrap of Designer Series Paper that had a woodgrain finish. I could have, just as easily, cut the base from a scrap of Pecan Pie. I used a scrap of Gold foil to die cut the star for the top of the tree. Next, I added Festive Adhesive Backed Pearls to embellish the front.
Easy Holiday Card Inside
I decided to incorporate the detailed portion of the evergreen on the inside of my card. I inked the stamp with Shaded Spruce and lined the center of the tree top with the edge of the Basic White layer. This allowed me to stamp one-half of the image. My greeting was stamped with Real Red. Quick, easy and very fun!!!
