I love fun fold cards, but one of the challenges, I find, is keeping them closed. So, today, I am sharing a Belt & Buckle Fun Fold. Just as the name suggests, this card easily stays closed due to the design. Because it is easy to make and such a neat design, I decided to use it in the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Folds Blog Hop! The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun fold cards. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by several talented demonstrators.
Belt & Buckle Fun Fold Card Design
As many fun folds, the Belt & Buckle Fun Fold is perfect for letting Designer Series Paper do a lot of the work for you! I chose to use the Autumn Leaves Bundle and All About Autumn Designer Series Paper. For the card base, I used Very Vanilla layered with Copper Clay. I, then, chose two different patterns of the Designer Series Paper. The first was a detailed photograph of autumn leaves. I used this on the front of the card. The second was a Copper Clay pattern interwoven with distressed copper foil. I used this for the “belt” and and inside of the front flap.
I used the two rectangular dies to make the buckle. The longer, thinner rectangle, I cut from a scrap of Copper Clay. The smaller rectangle was cut from Very Vanilla. After stamping my sentiment, I layered one on the other. The leaves were die cut from Crushed Curry and Designer Series Paper.
Belt & Buckle Card Inside
For the inside front flap, I used the Leaf Fall 3D Embossing Folder to dry emboss the layer of Designer Series Paper. I added a matching piece of Designer Series Paper from the card front to the Very Vanilla inside layer. The sentiment was stamped with Copper Clay.
In the video below, I will demonstrate making the Belt & Buckle Fun Fold card. There will, also, be some suggestions for options other than Designer Series Paper. Further down in the post, you will see an additional card, measurements, supplies and downloadable PDF with instructions. Please leave me a comment with your thoughts on the Belt & Buckle Fun Fold.
