Today, I am using the Winterly Tree Tops Bundle and Nest of Winter Designer Series Paper to create a fun and easy Latch Fold Card. Because this fun fold goes together so easily, I will be using this design for one of my Christmas cards.
Latch fold Card Design
The Latch Fold card is quite versatile and can be used for any occasion with many other stamps and dies. Options are truly limitless. Here, I chose to use a combination of Designer Series Paper and dry embossing for my layers. However, one could just as easily use Designer Series Paper on, both, the front flap and the latch.
Next, I chose to use a bird for my focal point. I used Stampin’ Blends to create my version of a BlueBird. A few evergreen sprigs die cut from Shaded Spruce added some interest and texture. The third largest circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies worked well for my sentiment and latch. However, you could just as easily use a square. Either way, the shape should be approximately 2 1/4″. I finished up by embellishing the card front with Adhesive Backed Shimmer Gems.
In the photo, above, I left the inside blank. I, often, do that until I am ready to send the card. By leaving it blank, it allows me to personalize the card for the recipient. However, when stamping a sentiment or writing a personalized note, I recommend doing so on the left side of the card so that it is hidden behind the front flap.
A second option would be across the center so that the sentiment and signature are hidden behind the fold and the latch. While, either way works, I prefer to use the are behind the front flap and add some layers on the inside of the card. Take a peek below.
