Today, I thought it would be fun to experience the magic of the Triple Floating Diamond Card. It’s captivating design will leave the recipient in awe! This is a fancy fun fold that combines the beauty of the Designer Series Paper along with stamped and die cut images. I, first, saw this card made by Lisa Curcio about a year ago. While I had made it at the time, I have not made it since. As a result, I thought it would be a fun and avid card for the February Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop!

The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

Triple Floating Diamond Card Template

Below, I have included two templates to assist you in making this fun fold. I started off with two pieces of Boho Blue card stock that measured 4″ x 8.” Next, I scored, both, pieces of card stock at 2,” 4,” and 6.” To form the “floating diamonds,” I cut the ends on both pieces of card stock in the shape of a point or triangle. I did this by placing a “tick” mark 2″ from the top and cutting on a diagonal from the “tick” mark to the score line. Next, I folded the ends toward the center of the card.

Triple Floating Diamond Card Design

I chose to use the Cheerful Daisies Bundle and Fresh As A Daisy Designer Series Paper. My colors consisted of Boho Blue for the card base and Copper Clay and Basic White for my card stock layers. All three colors were present in the pattern of Designer Series Paper I chose from Fresh As A Daisy.

I used Tuxedo Black Momento Ink to stamp the outline of the daisies. The floral stamps in the Cheerful Daises Bundle are two-step stamps. However, I wanted the daisies to resemble those in the Designer Series Paper. Instead of stamping the color, I chose to leave the daisies white and add some Boho Blue with a Blender Pen. I used Copper Clay for the center of the flowers and Garden Green for the leaves. Prior to stamping the leaves, I “stamped off” once for a lighter color with some variation.

To provide added space for a personalized message, I added two layered panels to the back of the card. Next, I placed the two Basic White Panels side-by-side and stamped the large daisy and colored with Boho Blue ink and a Blender Pen.

  1. Kathi, this fun fold card is gorgeous! The fold looks complicated for my brain right now but I will watch your video to see how it’s done. Thanks for doing that! The daisy stamp set is one of my all-time favorites, and I only have scraps left of the coordinating paper so I need to order more before it retires all too soon. Thanks for joining the blog hop this month.

  2. Kathi, love your cheery, fun card. That DSP is one of my favorites. I think I used most of mine making cards you made for the last blog hop.. Connie did a great job explaining it, didn’t she? She made it look easy as you are going to show me in your video how easy this card is to make. Thank you for the video.

  3. Oh my – this is stunning! LOVE your colors – and the flowers! And that FOLD!! Going to have to give this one a try, for sure! 🙂
