Today, I am using the Diagonal Recessed Panel Technique to create a focal point for my card. This technique is fun and easy to do with just about any Designer Series Paper. First, I love that the Diagonal Recessed Panel creates a focal point for my card front. Second, I like that I can switch it up and create a whole different look. Whether, I use the Designer Series Paper for the top layer or the recessed panel, it doesn’t matter. Both, create a unique look.
I used a layer of Inked Botanicals Designer Series Paper for the recessed panel. Next, embossed a layer of Lost Lagoon using one of the Basics 3D Embossing folders. To accentuate the diagonal edges, I added a 3/8″ strip of Calypso Coral to the diagonal edges. I popped the diagonal panels up using Stampin’ Dimensionals to increase the depth or illusion of the recessed panel. For emphasis, I added a flower and leaves using the Two-Tone Flora stamps and dies.

On the inside, I added a strip of Lost Lagoon and matching Designer Series Paper and layered on Calypso Coral.
