Sometimes the best birthday cards make people laugh. Today I’m sharing two easy funny birthday cards filled with bold greetings and playful humor. Both cards feature products from Spellbinders’ February release, the Aged to Perfection Collection.

In the video below, I walk you through both designs step by step. You’ll see how I layer the die cuts, add dimension, and create soft inked embossing backgrounds.
Card One — Snail Mail Smiles
For both cards, I used the OMG Dies with the Birthday Laughs Sentiments Clear Stamp Set. This set includes fun, punny messages that work perfectly for light-hearted birthday cards.

I chose colors from the Spellbinders 48 ColorWheel Cardstock to keep the designs bright and cheerful. Then I blended Gina K inks around the edges for extra depth.
To create the bold “OMG,” I cut the silhouette layers from black cardstock. I stacked three layers for each letter to add dimension.
Next, I cut the detailed layers from heavy white cardstock. I added Altenew Double-Sided Adhesive Sheets first. This made the pieces sturdy and easy to assemble.
For a playful touch, I added the snail from the Spellbinders Snail Mail Post Die Set (April 2025). It pairs perfectly with the sentiment:
“It’s all fun and games until your metabolism slows down.”
I used a black card base and added a white embossed panel. The background was created with the Cloud Nine 2D Embossing Folder (January 2026). Before embossing, I inked the folder with Gina K Blue Sky. This added soft color and dimension.
I finished the card by die cutting the sentiment with the Perfect Touch Rectangle and Tag Etched Dies.
Card Two — A Little Cheeky Humor

For the second card, I used the Love Stinks Die, which was a recent freebie. Since it’s no longer available, you can easily substitute a character from your stash. A goose, cat, or dog would work just as well.
I created the focal point using the Nesting Arches Die Set. First, I die cut the arch shape. Then I inked and embossed the background just like the first card.
To add a fun surprise, I split the sentiment between the front and inside:
Front: “Sorry I called you old”
Inside: “Thought you knew.”
This simple detail adds personality and makes the card extra memorable.
