Today, I am sharing how to make an easy treat basket with Designer Series Paper! The theme for my mini basket is Easter. I have created an Easter Bunny from circles and added it to the side of my basket. However, the mini basket is perfect for: treats, as a small gift basket and as a table setting decoration.
My mini treat basket is part of the Crafty Collaborations Easter Blog Hop. This hop is made up of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. These talented demonstrators love sharing their stamping and crafting ideas to provide you with inspiration. Below, you will find links to visit the other demonstrator websites participating in this “hop.” I hope you will click on their links and see their great creations and while you are there, leave them a comment. I know they will appreciate it!
Easy Treat Basket With Designer Series Paper
The mini basket requires a 6″ x 6″ piece of patterned paper. Card stock can be used in place of patterned paper, if preferred. I chose to use a piece of patterned paper from the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper. Next, I scored at the two inch mark on each side of the paper. This divides the paper into nine squares. I, then, cut on the score line from the edge of the paper to the two inch mark. This is only done on opposite sides of the paper (refer to diagram). Next, I burnished each of the score lines.
Mini Basket Construction
I wanted my mini treat basket to have a handle. I used a 1 1/2″ x 7″ piece of coordinating Designer Series Paper and scored at 3/4″ along the length of the paper. Next, I folded it along the score line. This provided increased stability. I attached the handle using Stampin’ Seal+. But, you can just as easily use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or a stapler.

This darling little bunny was made using circles from Stylish Shapes Dies. I added some “craft eyes” for interest and dimension. I used a paper punch for his cute little nose. However, in the video, I used a Blooming Pearl. You could, also, color an Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewel with a Stampin’ Blends Marker.
In the video below, I will demonstrate how to create an easy treat basket with Designer Series Paper and the bunny using die cut circles. Further down in the post, you will find measurements and supplies including a downloadable PDF and the links to continue “hopping” through the “Crafty Collaborations Easter Blog Hop.”
