The Altenew Festive Triangles Stamp Set and Press Plate are the perfect way to bring a little holiday card magic to your craft table! This versatile bundle offers endless design possibilities — from simple stamping to elegant letterpress and dazzling hot foiled accents. In today’s post (and video below), I’ll show you how to create three unique looks using the same set — perfect for any modern holiday cardmaker.
Holiday Card Magic: Simple Stamping Altenew Festive Triangles Stamp Set

For my first design, I focused on simple stamping using the Festive Triangles Stamp Set. I used a stamping positioner for perfect alignment and reached for nontraditional holiday colors to give my card a fresh, modern twist.
Since I’m not always confident choosing color combinations, I turned to my Color Cubes by Sarah Renae Clark for inspiration — and they didn’t disappoint! I went with a soothing violet palette, combining soft and rich tones for depth and interest.
Using a mixture of solid and distinctive patterned triangle stamps, I incorporated two-step stamping to add detail and variation to my trees. The result is a clean, elegant card that feels both festive and refreshingly unexpected.

Letterpress Magic with the BetterPress System

Next, I reached for the BetterPress Letterpress System and the Festive Triangles Press Plates to add depth and texture. For my ink colors, I used Altenew Emerald, Lagoon, and Volcano Lake— a cool, wintry trio that complements the geometric shapes beautifully.
To achieve crisp, professional-looking impressions, I pressed onto BetterPress Cotton Card Panels, which have just the right texture and absorbency. Once dry, I die-cut the trees using Altenew’s Nesting Triangle Dies and arranged them on a delicate snowflake-embossed background. The layered triangles and subtle letterpress detail created a serene and sophisticated holiday design.
Hot Foil for Dazzling Holiday Shine

For the final design, I brought out the Festive Triangles Press Plates again — this time for hot foiling! I used a rich red cardstock paired with Altenew’s Enchanted Gold Hot Foil Roll for a touch of seasonal sparkle.
At first, I struggled to achieve a fully covered image with the solid tree plate. After a little troubleshooting, I added an extra cardstock shim, which gave me a perfect, smooth foil transfer. Once foiled, I die-cut the triangles and arranged them on my card for a stunning, shimmering finish.
I even created a second variation featuring multiple die-cut foiled trees layered for extra dimension — the golden shimmer against the red background truly captures that holiday magic feel.
