It’s time for another Stamp Together Tuesday, and this week we had so much fun creating a Unique Fun Fold Tutorial — the Interlocking Crossover Gate Fold! If you love cards that open in unexpected ways and have that “wow” factor, this one is for you.

What is a Crossover Gate Fold
The Crossover Gate Fold is a creative spin on the traditional gate fold card. In a standard gate fold, the card opens from the center with two panels that fold inward, like gates. The “crossover” element involves layering extra pieces of cardstock or patterned paper on top of the folded panels. These layers are adhered so that they extend across the folds, creating a visually striking effect.
This creates a fun, interactive closure that’s both secure and stylish — no belly band or magnet needed! When the card is closed, the top and bottom flaps slide slightly under the center flap with the focal point, forming an interlocking look. When open, the crossover flaps reveal the inside panel with your message or additional decoration.
