Today, I thought I would have some fun making a Corner Bookmark Birthday Card. In reality, this card can be made for any occasion and using just about any stamp set. I chose to use the Friendly Gnomes stamps and dies, as I decided to make it for my granddaughter. Further down in the post, you will see a Corner Bookmark Card made with the Seaside Bay stamps and dies with the greeting “Thinking of You.”
Friendly Gnomes Corner Bookmark Card Design
I decided to pair the Friendly Gnomes with the Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper. For no other reason than, I liked the colors. The card base is a single layer of Fresh Freesia. The second card base is Basic White. Both, bases are layered with Dandy Designs Designer Series Paper. The granddaughter greeting is from A Grand Kid Stamp set and die cut using a banner from Stylish Shapes.
Corner Bookmark Construction
Corner Bookmarks can be made several different ways. Today, I am showing you just one of the ways in which you can make it. In an effort to make the bookmark more sturdy, I chose to use a 6″ x 6″ piece of Fresh Freesia card stock. After scoring the card stock in half, in both, directions, I cut one of the squares out, leaving me three for construction of the bookmark. Next, I folded the squares over one another and secured them with Tear & Tape. It is important to remember that the opening for the bookmark needs to be on the left hand side. Otherwise, it will not slide onto the corner of a page. Finally, I added an outer layer of Designer Series Paper followed by my sentiment and a gnome.
Watch the video below for instructions on constructing this card and the Corner Bookmark. Further down in the post, you will see measurements, supplies and a downloadable PDF. Leave me a comment. I would love to hear from you!
Additional Corner Bookmark Card using Seaside Bay
Here is a second card using Seaside Bay Stamps and By The Bay Designer Series Paper. On this card, I made the Corner Bookmark a little larger. I had cut the square 6 1/2″ x 6 1/2″. In the end, I liked the smaller size on the Friendly Gnomes a little better. My external sentiment is from Let’s Set Sail. I always think of reading a book as an adventure, so it seemed appropriate.
