Today, I am using Stampin’ Up! Hooray For Surprises Bundle. This bundle is unique, in that it allows you to create interactive cards. When, I am looking at purchasing a product, I am always looking for ways to expand it’s use. The Hooray For Surprises Bundle is perfect to create interactive cards with other stamp sets you already have. Further down in the post, you will see what I mean.
Above, I have created an interactive birthday card using Hooray For Surprises bundle. I started off with Flirty Flamingo for my card base. Next, I layered with a Basic White layer dry embossed with the Softly Sophisticated 3D Embossing Folder.
Creating The Interactive Layer With Horray For Surprise Dies
For the interactive layer, I used two 3″ x 3″ Basic White Panels. When using the interactive dies, I found it easiest to create a template. I did this by cutting a piece of copy paper the same size as my panels. Remember, when using the interactive dies with the tab, they do not cut all the way through. Instead, the shape stays attached making it easy for the recipient to remove. However, when making your template, you do want to “pull-out” the die cut portion.
I used the template to stamp my “surprise” image on the inside panel. Next, I adhered the Die Cut Panel to the inside panel, making sure to apply adhesive outside of the die cut. Next, I attached the combined panels to a 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ Basic Black square. At this point, I was ready to create my focal point.
For my focal point, I stamped the large die cut flower with Flirty Flamingo. I, then, cut two sets of leaves from Lost Lagoon and Pretty Peacock. The leaves were adhered with Multipurpose Glue and the flower was “popped up” with Stampin’ Dimensionals. When adhering the leaves, be careful to only apply glue to the portion of the die cuts that will be within the die cut circle.
Hooray For Surprises InTeractive Card Front
Here, the die cut is removed to reveal the “surprise” underneath. The sentiment was stamped with Tuxedo Black Momento and trimmed to size. The sentiment was “popped up” with Dimensionals. I used Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots for embellishments.
A Basic White layer was stamped with a sentiment and a partial image of the large flower. It was, next, layered on Basic Black and adhered to the inside of the card.
In the video below, I demonstrate how to use Hooray For Surprises to create an interactive birthday card. Further down in the post, you will find the measurements, supplies and a downloadable PDF with instructions for the card made during the video. Leave me a comment as I would love your thoughts on the Hooray For Surprises Bundle and the interactive birthday cards!
Additional Interactive Card
Hooray For Surprises Bundle is versatile to use with many other stamp sets. Below, I made an interactive Valentine Fun Fold using the heart die from Hooray For Surprises and paired it with the Bee My Valentine Bundle.
