Today, I’m sharing fun and creative way to use Stampin’ Up! Inspirational Sketches, stamp set. Since, Inspirational Sketches does not have a coordinating set of dies, I decided to pair it with the Perennial Postage Dies for an easy card you can make in minutes. Both, of these products, are in the Stampin’ Up! 2024 January – April Mini Catalog.
Inspirational Sketches & Perennial Postage Dies
In order to pick my colors, I first chose two coordinating pieces of Garden Walk Designer Series Paper. While this Designer Series Paper will soon retire, you can use any Designer Series Paper! Next, I chose Pretty Peacock for the card base and layered it with Wild Wheat. Definitely, not colors I would have chosen, had it not been for the colors in the Designer Series Paper.
The remaining layers were die cut using the Perennial Postage Dies. I first die cut the white layer and then dry embossed it using the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The patterns of the Garden Walk Designer Series Paper, the postage die cuts and the embossing added a vintage look to the card.
The coordinating pieces of die cut Designer Series Paper were laid perpendicular to one another. The stamped image was , also, die cut using the Perennial Postage Dies and layered on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
I chose to use the bird from Inspirational Sketches stamped in Wild Wheat. The sentiment was stamped using Tuxedo Black Momento ink, trimmed and attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I used Blooming Pearls in Pretty Peacock to embellish the front of the card.

Inspirational Sketches: Card Inside
My inside layer is Basic White with with a matching 3/8″ strip of Garden Walk Designer Series Paper.
I chose to wait on stamping and inside sentiment until I send the card.
