Build a Whimsical Fall Scene with Die Cuts
I began with a navy card base measuring 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″ to create a crisp fold. To add instant texture and a touch of whimsy, I layered a piece of white cardstock on top that I dry embossed using the Simon Says Stamp Dotted Spiral Embossing Folder. It gives the background a fun, swirly pattern—almost like a blustery fall breeze swirling those colorful leaves around!
For the focal point, I couldn’t resist building the cutest little acorn house out of die cuts! Then I added a friendly squirrel and a few playful flowers to decorate their little woodland home. It instantly gives the card so much personality—and fall charm!
To keep the autumn vibes strong, I sprinkled in lots of layered leaves. I die-cut them from rich fall cardstocks like gold, green, orange, and a gorgeous plum. And because fun details matter, I used daubers to softly brush the edges of some leaves with warm fall inks. That extra touch of shading adds such beautiful depth!
Every layer brings a little more movement and texture. I love watching the scene come alive piece by piece!
