Today, I am participating in the April Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop. I am featuring a Book Binding Easel Card with a “twist.” You may, also, have heard it called a “Twisted Easel Fun Fold” or a “Book Binding Twisted Easel Card.” Regardless of what you call it, it is an easy fun fold that is truly display-worthy!

The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

Book Binding Twisted Easel Card Design

The Book Binding Twisted Easel Card is unique because it is made up of two fun fold card designs: a book binding design and an easel card design. First, I created the Book Binding Fun Fold portion of the card. I used a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Lemon Lolly scored at 4 1/4″ and 5 1/2″. Next, I scored the 4 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ section of the card base on a diagonal from the top right corner of the card base to the bottom of the 4 1/4″ score line. Once I had completed the scoring, I was ready to adhere the book binding section of my card base. Follow along in the video below, for step-by-step construction of the card.

Decorating The Outside Portion

The design of this fun fold is quite versatile, thereby, making it easy to use just about any papers, stamps and dies. In all of the cards, I used the Garden Meadow Bundle and Meandering Meadow 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. The Basic White layers on the front of my cards were dry embossed using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder. Next, I chose Designer Series Paper with coordinating card stock for my layers and focal point. I finished off by adding a floral die cut and Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots.

Decorating the Inside Easel Portion

To finish off the inside of the card, I adhered a 4″ x 4″ piece of Basic White to inside of the card base. I made sure to stamp my inside sentiment up and slightly to the left. This way, it would not be visible when the card was displayed. Lastly, I used a die cut image with Stampin’ Dimensionals as my “bumper” to help my card stay propped open and upright when on display.

Below is the instructional video demonstrating step-by-step how to design a Book Binding Twisted Easel Fun Fold. There will be tips on scoring, folding and assembling the card. Further down in the post, you will find additional cards and a downloadable PDF with the link to the instructional video, measurements, and supplies. Leave me a comment and let me know your thoughts on this Book Binding Easel Card with a “twist!”
