Today, I am excited to share an eye-catching Fun Fold Window Card. What makes this card different from other fun fold window cards, is that the window bends allowing a pop-out center. Oh, I forgot to mention, it bends and the center pops out, both, on the front and back! I first made this card about a year ago, after watching Lisa Curcio. I love the dimension and interest that this fun fold displays and decided to include it in the May Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Fold Blog Hop.

The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

Fun Fold Window Card: Design

To create the card base, I used one piece of 8 1/2″ x 11″ Pumpkion Pie and cut it into four 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ pieces. I, then, scored the four pieces at 2 1/8″ and folded on the score line creating a total of eight panels. Next, I layered each panel with a piece of 2″ x 5 3/8″ Designer Series Paper. Finally, I adhered the panels together to create what resembled a pinwheel.

Next, I used a coordinating Designer Series Paper to create the bendable window. Since, I wanted a window front and back, I used two 4 1/2″ x 5″ pieces from the Unbounded Beauty Designer Series Paper. I chose to use the third largest from the Countryside Corners Dies to create my windows. However, I could have used a rectangle, circle or square. It’s just important when choosing the die for the window to remember, you will want a smaller die for the pop-out portion of the card. Once, I had the windows cut, I used a bone folder to lightly shape the upper and lower portion of the window. I, then, adhered my windows to the opposite sides of the card base.

Bendable Mechanism For Fun Fold Window Card

I used a 1″ x 2 1/2″ piece of card stock to create the bendable mechanisms to support the pop-out portion of the card. For the pop-out portions of my card, I used the Fields of Bloom Stamp Set. I thought the design of the stamps complimented the patterns of the Designer Series Papers. After stamping my images and sentiments, I die cut the center pop-outs using the fourth largest die from Countryside Corners. To adhere the die cut to the pop-out mechanism, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
