Today’s card is taking part in the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators December Fun Fold Blog Hop. The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun folds by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.

Cascading Gatefold Card

At first glance, this card does not look any different than any other fun fold with a belly band. Since the colors in the Designer Series Paper were somewhat muted, I used Pretty Peacock for a “pop” of color. The belly band and matte for the greeting coordinated well with the leaves in the paper. To create the detailed butterflies, I used a watercolor wash pattern from the Everyday Happiness Designer Series Paper.

Once the belly band is removed, this fancy fold showcases an interactive design that reveals a cascading center with whimsical butterflies and a heartfelt sentiment.

The cascading center of the Gatefold allows for surprise elements such as these beautiful butterflies that appear to be ascending on their flight.

Lastly, the back of the card provides a perfect space to add layers with a sentiment and personal message!
