Today, I am excited to share with you the Stampin’ Up! Layering Masks from the Abundant Beauty Decorative Masks found in the upcoming 2023 September – December Mini Catalog. I hope to provide you some tips for using the Stampin’ Up! layering masks which consist of four layers to create the beautiful sunflowers seen in the card, below.
Tips For Using Stampin’ Up! Layering Masks
Each layering mask is notched and numbered. (refer to the picture below) When using the layering masks, it is important to keep the notches in the same position. This allows the different images on each mask to line up in the correct position for a perfect image. You can see a demonstration of this in the video, below.
Next, make sure to secure your card stock and mask. In the video, I use a “sticky mat” and a piece of silicone. But this can be just as easily done with washy tape of Post-It Note tape. Using blending brushes allows you to lay the color down gradually. I started off with Lemon Lolly and continued to build on the intensity of the color. Next, I used a dauber with Crushed Curry around the center of the flower for depth and interest. For the centers, I used Pecan Pie and Early Expresso. The leaves were colored in the same way with Old Olive and Mossy Meadow. I loved the end result.
The video below demonstrates how make the card with tips for using Stampin’ Up! layering stencils. Further down in the post, you will find another card and measurements, supplies, and instructions with a downloadable PDF. Leave me a comment, I would love to know which card you like best.
