If you’re hunting for fall card making ideas that go beyond a traditional wreath, you’re in the right place. Today I’m sharing three designs using the Spellbinders Build-A-Wreath Dies and Halloween Wreath Add-Ons—one classic wreath and two playful layouts that stretch your dies in fresh ways. Texture takes center stage: all three cards feature a white embossed layer created with the Spellbinders Falling Leaves Embossing Folder for a crisp, seasonal backdrop.

These fall card making ideas all begin with that same crisp, embossed foundation—clean, cohesive, and oh-so seasonal.
Fall Card 1: Non-Traditional Wreath with Two-Tone Fall Florals

The set includes three different branch styles—perfect for overlaying colors to build depth and texture over the embossed background. Rather than using greens for the branches, I went non-traditional and used Spellbinder’s Indigo and Windy card stock. Because I was inspired by two-tone dahlias in my garden, I layered the flowers using Saffron, Cinnamon and Carrot. Next, I added a Cinnamon bow with an Altenew Iridescent Crystal Gem in the center. I placed three flowers around the perimeter of the wreath and added a sentiment from Spellbinders Autumn Sentiments Press Plate & Die Set. At the finish, I loved this design. The embossed leaves peeking through the wreath add quiet movement without competing with the floral focal point.
Fall Card 2 – Corner Cluster Halloween Focal (Beyond the Wreath)

For this design, I wanted to show how the wreath builder dies can create a striking focal point that isn’t a wreath. Start with the embossed white panel (Spellbinders Falling Leaves Embossing Folder) as your textured layer.
To build the corner focal point, I used Spellbinder’s Rainforest & Peridot to cut the branches and Saffron & Pomegranate for the flowers. Next, I used Spellbinders Halloween Wreath Add-Ons, to design the jack-o’-lantern and sprinkle in a few die-cut goodies/candies—they create an irresistibly cute focal point. Next, the jack-o-lantern was nestled in the corner with the branches and flowers. I then adhered the embossed layer to a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of black.
To create a bold “sentiment using the “Happy Halloween,” I used three black silhouette layers stacked beneath one white script layer for crisp contrast and sturdy dimension. Pink & Main “The Oranges” Sticky Gems added a touch of seasonal sparkle. The asymmetrical corner cluster keeps the eye moving diagonally across the card, while the embossed leaves provide quiet seasonal texture behind the scene.
Fall Card 3 – Pumpkin & Ghost Surprise (Classic Halloween)

This one was so much fun and uses both die sets again. The star is the little ghost popping out of a pumpkin, flanked by a witch’s hat and flying bats for that timeless Halloween vibe. After layering the white embossed layer on a 4″ x 5 1/4″ layer of black, I added two Peridot branches across the lower portion of the card. To add a little “smokiness” to the ghost, I lightly added grey ink using a blending brush. For the witches hat, I used Lilac for the band and Carrot for the buckle; traditional Halloween colors. Foam was used to “pop up” the pumpkin and hat. I used the same greeting as I had on the second card. But to add a little bit of “eerie,” I layered three die cut bats to the upper right corner.
