We are approaching the time of year that everyone thinks of giving gift cards for the holidays. But, today’s easy gift card fun fold is perfect for any time of year! Additionally, you can easily just make a fun fold card. I learned of this design from Jackie Bolhuis during the 2022 Fall Creativate Retreat. I have used this design several times for, both, gift card holders, as well as, fun fold cards.

Today, I chose to use greetings from the Brightest Glow Stamp Set and Lights Aglow Designer Series Paper for my gift card fun fold. Cherry Cobbler was used for the card base, while Very Vanilla was used for the fun fold portion of the card. The gold foil in the Designer Series Paper paired well with the 3/8″ Gold Shimmer Ribbon.
Watch the video below to see how to make this easy gift card fun fold. You will, also, see the same design made, simply as, a fun fold card. An added surprise, is a second fun fold using Rings of Nature Hybrid Embossing Folder. Further down, you will find a link to the supply list and free downloadable tutorial. I would love to hear from you! Leave me a comment below and let me know which one you like best!

For the greeting, I used the sheet with the fold foil circles and squares. Cutting the sheet into 3″ x 3″ squares resulted in four labels. I then used the second largest die from Layering Circles to cut. The sentiment was stamped with Cherry Cobbler on Very Vanilla and die cut using another die from Layering Circles.
I created a “pocket” on the lower portion of the fold using a 2″ x 4 1/8″ piece of matching Designer Series Paper. Remember to stay close to the edges when adhering your adhesive so you have enough room for the gift card. I found Mutipurpose Glue or Tear & Tape worked best.
Fun Fold Without Gift Card Holder
If you like the layout, but don’t need the gift card holder, simply use a 2 7/8″ x 4 1/8″ piece of matching Designer Series Paper on the lower portion of the fun fold. It’s important to remember, not everyone likes working with eighths, if you are one who prefers “cleaner” numbers cut your Designer Paper 2 3/4″ x 4.” The card will look the same!

Additional Fun Fold

For this card, I used the Ringed With Nature Bundle and Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper. I chose Soft Suede for my card base and fun fold. Gingham Cottage Designer Series Paper in Soft Saffron and Pumpkin Pie were used as layers. Soft Suede and Crumb Cake were used with the Tree Rings Hybrid Embossing Folder for the wood chips. The little acorn was “capped” using Gold Foil. Even though, this is a “Get Well” card, I love the cheerfulness of the fall colors.
