Looking to add some whimsy and wow to your birthday cards? In today’s tutorial, I’m sharing how to create interactive birthday cards using the adorable Darling Dinos Bundle by Stampin’ Up! This playful stamp and die set is perfect for kids’ birthdays—or anyone who is young at heart!

To bring the card front to life, I used the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder. Not only does it add fabulous texture, but I also used it creatively to mimic a “bumpy cracked shell —a fun detail that ties into the dinosaur theme.
For the grass, I added dimension by stamping the Lemon Lime Twist grass mounds with Granny Apple Green ink. Layering and overlapping helped give the scene a bit more depth and playful movement. My greeting came from the Greetings for All Mix & Match Ephemera Pack. Because the letters were white with a black outline, I used a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker to color them in and make them pop.
Here’s where the fun really kicks in—I made the card interactive by attaching wobbles to two of the dinos! These little springs add a delightful bounce that makes the card come to life.

In the video, I’ll also show you a clever tip for modifying your stamp sentiments. Since I wanted to reverse one of the phrases from the stamp set, I carefully cut the stamp in half to change up the wording. (Don’t worry—it’s easier than it sounds and totally reversible!)
At the end of the tutorial, I share a bonus card—a fun fold design I created for my grandson’s birthday. It’s another dino-filled project that adds even more interactive flair! Watch the full tutorial to see how it all comes together!
