Today, on Connect To Create, I want to show you another technique that adds mileage and versatility to your embossing folders. This technique is called partial embossing. Partial embossing allows you to partially emboss your layer with one or more embossing folders leaving a “white space” for stamping. This technique is a great way to “pack a punch” to your handmade cards.
Partial Embossing with Countryside Blossoms
In the card below, I used the Countryside Blossoms Embossing Folder to make a Bridal Shower card. I embossed the upper and lower edges of my Basic White layer, thereby leaving an area to stamp my greeting. Once embossed, I flipped the layer over and used my scoring board and stylus to emboss along the edges. My greeting is from the Nature’s Prints stamp set. I used Dainty Delight for the floral image and colored it using Stampin’ Blends. Once die cut, I attached it to the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I, also, partially embossed the the lower edge of the inside layer. I carried the embossing through to the flap of the enveloped to complete a beautiful piece of stationary.

Watch the Connect To Create video below for instructions on how to do the Partial Embossing Technique. Below the video, you will find a second card where I used to two different embossing folders1 Leave me a comment. I would love to hear your thoughts on the technique and which card is your favorite!
Partial Embossing With the Basics embossing folders
For the second card, I used two different embossing folders from the Online Exclusive Basics 3D Embossing Folders. Here, I did the technique the exact same way, except I used one embossing folder for the top of the layer and a second embossing folder for the bottom. I felt it gave it a fun look adding texture and dimension to my card. I finished the card off using the Beautiful Balloons Bundle.
