Today’s card is part of the Sweethearts Global Collective Holiday Blog Hop. The theme for this hop is “techniques.” I am featuring the Rubber Band Technique with the Tea Boutique Suite. What is the rubber band technique? It’s a simple way to add interest, color and backgrounds to your cards using rubber bands, acrylic blocks and ink. Simply said, you wrap different size rubber bands around an acrylic block, ink it up and stamp.
The rubber bands create irregularly shaped lines. To add more interest, wrap some flat, twist some, and cross over on others. Want more than one color in your background? Wipe the acrylic block with the rubber bands on a shammy or spray and wipe down with a paper towel. Some recommend using the same size rubber bands. I actually like use a variety of widths and sizes. Watch the video below to see how to do the technique, tips for adding two colors to your images and making the cards shown. Measurements, supplies and instructions are further down in this post.
