Today, I am sharing a new fun fold called the Triangle Accordion Pocket Card. If you like fun folds, you will “love” this one! This fun fold is unique because it is two cards in one and, truly, “display worthy!” I, recently, learned how to make this card from Connie Stewart during the 2024 Winter Creativate Retreat. It has quickly become one of my favorite fun folds! As a result, I am using it to participate in the January Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Folds Blog Hop!
The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others to provide creative ideas and inspiration. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by these talented demonstrators from around the globe.
Triangle Accordion Pocket Card Template
Despite being easy to make, the templates help to clarify the folds and cuts. Below, is a template that shows measurements, scoring for the fun fold card base. You will notice that the card base is 5 1/2″ x 8 1/4″. Just a little smaller than a standard card base. When cutting the card stock and Designer Series Paper layers, it is important to remember to cut on the diagonal starting at the top left to bottom right. When all is said and done, if your patterned paper is non-directional you have enough pieces to make two cards!
Triangle Accordion Pocket Card Design
This fun fold is great for letting patterned paper do the work. I chose to use the Perennial Lavender Designer Series Paper with Gorgeous Grape for the card base. For the smaller card or pocket insert, I chose to layer the Basic White card base on Crumb Cake. My stamped and die cut images were from the Painted Lavender Bundle. I finished the outside by embellishing with a small Linen Thread bow and the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.
Below is the instructional video demonstrating how to design a Triangle Accordion Pocket Card. There will be tips on cutting, folding and assembling the card. Further down in the post, you will find a second card, downloadable PDF with the template design, measurements, instructions and supplies. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this great fun fold card design!

What a great fun fold card, Kathi! I have done variations of this one but will try yours. Thanks for the tutorial!! This paper is beautiful and, for once, I’m not going to worry about running out. It’s too pretty not to use it! Thanks for joining the hop this month!

Kathi, love this card and the DSP. It is sure an easy card to make, I found out. I think I have 3 now. Connie did a great job of explaining. ??

Thank you, Shirley for visiting. You must have seen Connie demonstrate it, also. Yes, she always does a nice job with explanations.

Beautiful Kathi. The Gorgeous Grape base really makes the lavender POP in the first version. Both versions are beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
