Today, I thought I would share how to create a simple patchwork card using scraps. All paper crafters have scraps, and more scraps! Do you ever wonder what to do with all those scraps of patterned paper and card stock. Stay with me, because I am going to show you a template that will help you to easily create a patchwork card!
Patchwork Card Using Designer Series Paper
Below, is the card made during my video. Here, I used scraps from the Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper collection. When using Designer Series Paper, creating the patchwork design is simple. Once you choose a Collection of paper, you know all the colors coordinate.
Here, I used Basic White for the card base and the second layer on which I created my patchwork. Once my patchwork layer was created, I layered it on Night of Navy and adhered the combined layers to the card base. I, also, layered the “Happy Birthday” sentiment on Night of Navy.
Inside of Countryside Inn Patchwork Card
On the inside of the card, I layered Basic White on Night of Navy. I added a strip of Night of Navy and matching Designer Series Paper along the edge of my Basic White layer.

In the video below, you will see how to create a simple Patchwork Card using Designer Series Paper. Below you will find two additional cards. You will, also, find measurements, supplies and instructions with a downloadable PDF. Leave me a comment as I would love your thoughts on these simple patchwork cards made using scraps of paper.
Additional Patchwork Cards
Below, I used a combination of Countryside Inn Designer Series Paper and Boho Blue card stock. Here, I embossed the card stock with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder that resembles “hashtags.” I love the combined look of the patterned paper and embossed card stock. For an added contrast, I chose to create my patchwork layer on Night of Navy instead of Basic White.
For this card, I chose to use the Bee Mine Designer Series Paper. The patchwork layer is created on Basic White and layered on Basic Black. The card base is Sweet Sorbet.
