Today, I am featuring a fun and easy card using Stampin’ Up! Planted Paradise. What makes this stamp set unique is that the stamps are double-sided. On one side, you have a solid stamped image and on the other side, you have images that are detailed. So it’s almost like getting two stamp sets for the price of one!
The Planted Paradise Stamp Set is a perfect for beginning stampers. It does not have a matching set of dies, but the images are easy to “fussy cut” allowing one to add dimension to their card. One other thing to note, Planted Paradise does not have any sentiments. However, it is easy to use sentiments from other stamps sets that you already own. Below is the card I demonstrated during my LIVE Online Card Class. If you missed the LIVE, you can view the video further down in the post.
Planted Paradise Card Design
I used Basic White for my card base. I did not use the Thick Basic White, because I was adding two layers inside and out. However, if you did not want all the layers, you could use a Flirty Flamingo card base with just a layer of Basic White layers. I, first, stamped leaves using, both, sides of the stamp with Soft Seafoam and Parakeet Party. After stamping, I dry embossed the stamped layer with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder to add texture.
I had fun stamping all of the images. I have never been a fan of “fussy cutting,” but the more I do it, I, actually, find it relaxing. Also, practice makes perfect. Well, maybe not perfect, but better. After, arranging my images, I adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Since the stamp set does not have sentiments, I used a sentiment from Throughout the Year.
I kept the inside simple by stamping a pot and leaves. Once, I stamped the flower pot, I used a “sticky note” to mask the pot. This allowed me to stamp the leaves so that the image was seamless.
In the video below, I demonstrate how to use the two-sided stamps and “fussy cut” the images from Planted Paradise. Further down in the post, you will find the measurements, supplies and a downloadable PDF with instructions for the card made during the video. Leave me a comment as I would love your thoughts on this stamp set and card.
