I love the ocean! So when Stampin’ Up! debuted the Waves of the Ocean Collection, I knew I had to have it!. The Waves of the Ocean Collection is an early release that includes: Waves of Inspiration Bundle, Waves of the Ocean Designer series Paper, Blue Foils and Rhinestone Waves Basic Jewels! A stunning collection for making beautiful cards! While the Designer Paper, Foils and Rhinestones are available only while supplies last, the Waves of Inspiration Bundle is included in the 2022 – 2023 Annul Catalog that will debut on May 3, 2022.
My inspiration for this card was the Blue Foils. I wanted to use the foils, but create a “glassy” look to the water. I wanted the waves to have the appearance of the water spraying up with a light sunset-like background. To achieve the look I used several techniques and elements. In stamping the waves, I used three colors: Seaside Spray, Pacific Point and Coastal Cabana. For my background, I used blending brushes with So Saffron, Calypso Coral and Highland Heather. For the look of the spray at the edge of the waves, I used a dauber with Seaside Spray. The “glassy” look was achieved by heat embossing with clear embossing powder over my stamped waves!
