If you are into paper crafting, whether card making or scrapbooking, I’m going to bet you have a lot of scrap paper! I know that I sure do! Today, I have a birthday card that I created using scraps from the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. This is just one of the many ways in which scrap paper can be used in paper crafting.
The birthday card from scrap Designer Series Paper that I am sharing with you is part of the Crafty Collaborations “themed” hop. This month’s theme is “creating with scraps.” Crafty Collaboration’s blog “hops” are comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators from around the world. These talented demonstrators love sharing their stamping and crafting ideas to provide you with inspiration. I hope, that as you “hop” along, you find inspiration for how to use your scraps of paper!
Creating With Scraps Card Design
I chose to use the Full of Life 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper. When I bought this paper, I thought I would never use it. Mainly, because it is not something I would normally buy. However, I found I have used it way more than ever expected, thereby, leaving me with tons of scraps!
I chose to papers I wanted to use: a blended background and circles. I cut several 3/8″ strips of each. Next, I cut a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Basic White card stock on which to adhere my strips of Designer Series Paper. Alternating the blended background with the circles, I left a small space between each strip. I switched up the direction so that I had some variation in the pattern. Once I had the Basic White piece of card stock covered, I trimmed it to 5″ x 3 3/4″
Because I was using the scraps as a background layer, I adhered it to a 5 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ piece of Basic black. I die cut “Happy Birthday” using the Wanted To Say Dies and adhered it to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Creating with scraps card: Inside
For the inside of the card, I, again, layered with Basic Black and Basic White. I added strips to the top and bottom of the Basic White layer. The sentiment was from the Unbounded Love Stamp Set.
