Today, I am sharing a Freestanding Vertical Fun Fold that is, truly, display-worthy! I first saw this fun fold made by Susan Campfield. I love the look and not only was it easy to make, it was fun, too! Below, the card is closed and fits nicely in an A2 envelope. Further down in the post, there are additional photos displaying this great fun fold!

Freestanding Vertical Fun Fold Design

I used the Autumn Leaves Bundle and Regal Winter 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. The Wild Wheat base for this card is 8″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 1 1/2″, 2 3/4″, 5 1/4″ and 6 1/2″. The card base is matted on a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of card stock. Prior to adhering the card base to the matte, I added a strip of Designer Series Paper on each side of the matte. I then adhered the card base to the center of the matte, creating a perfect display for this freestanding vertical fun fold.

I used the same pattern from Regal Winter Designer Series Paper on the two inside folds as I used on the matte for the card base. Since I wanted my focal point to stand out, I decided on Basic White embossed with the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder as a layer for the right front fold and the left front panel.

Autumn Leaves Focal Point For Fun Fold

For the focal point, I stamped the leaf on Wild Wheat using Wild Wheat and Early Expresso. Next, I die cut the leaf. To add some interest, I used the Gold and Bronze Enamel Effects and painted the surface of the leaf with a Water Painter. However, I did not use water in the brush for this technique. Once dry, this adds a very pretty sheen to the image, making it a true highlight of the freestanding vertical fun fold.

To finish off my fun fold, I added a bow using the Wild Wheat 3/8″ Rustic Striped Ribbon and Gold-Textured Adhesive-Backed Dots.
