Today, I am sharing how to make an easy pocket fold card. While there are several different ways in which to make a pocket fold card, this design uses Designer Series Paper for the card base. I, also, like that I was able to display, both, sides of the paper using this design.
A Easy Pocket Fold Card Design
I chose to make my first holiday card using the Season of Green & Gold 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This paper is, absolutely, stunning with gold inlay and is just one of the many new Online Exclusive products that will be available to customers on July 3rd.
To start off, I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 4″ x 10 1/2″. It was important to pay attention to the direction of the pattern when, both, cutting and scoring the paper (refer to video). In this, particular, pocket card design, the edges are not sealed with adhesive. The pocket is kept closed by wrapping a piece of Designer Series Paper, card stock or ribbon around the pocket and securing it to the back. The pocket is then adhered to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Very Vanilla Card Stock.
For the front of the pocket, I used the Stylish Shapes dies to cut a banner from Gold Foil and a circle from Very Vanilla. For the sentiments, I used Greetings of the Season, another upcoming Online Exclusive. Since the paper already added a lot to the design of my card, I chose to simply add the banner and greeting with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Easy Pocket Fold Insert
I chose Mossy Meadow layered with Very Vanilla for the pocket fold insert. Again, I used sentiments from Greetings of the Season Stamp Set. All of the sentiments were stamped with Mossy Meadow. I like using partial images from the edges of Designer Series Paper to “dress up” the inside of my cards. So, here, I did fussy cut a bell with gold inlay from the Season of Green & Gold Designer Series Paper. Lastly, I added a few small Gold Blooming Pearls on either side of the sentiment.

Additional Pocket Fold Cards
Above, I used the Adventures In The Sky Stamp Set and Take To The Sky 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper to make a Father’s Day card. For the focal point of the pocket fold, I used the Deckled Circles Dies. I love the way this card turned out.
