Today, I decided to share a Holiday Pop Out Fun Fold card. Initially, I made this card to participate in the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators Fun Folds Blog Hop! But, I had so much fun making it, I decided to share it for one of my Live Online Card Classes.
The “hop” is comprised of Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love making fun folds and sharing those cards with others. At the end of this post, you will find the “line up” that will take you to several other blog posts. I hope you will “hop” along to see a variety of fun fold cards by several talented demonstrators from around the globe.
Pop Out Fun Template
At first glance, the card may look to be a little intimidating. But stick with me and I will show you a template and easy way to make this lovely fun fold card! I first saw a Pop Out Fun Fold made by Jackie Bolhuis, while back. It looked like so much fun, I went ahead and have made them to give to others. But, the one thing I have not done, is demonstrate how you can easily make this card on your own.
Below, is a template that shows measurements, scoring and cutting lines for the card base. It really will come together quite easily if you watch the video below, also.
Holiday Pop Out Fun Fold Card Design
What I love about the Pop Out Fun Fold is the versatility. You can spotlight Designer Series Paper, stamped images or die cuts. I chose to spotlight the Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper. The colors and designs are stunning. Next, I chose Misty Moonlight for the card base and Moody Mauve for matting, as, both, of these colors were in the Designer Series Paper.
My stamping was minimal. Basically, a few sentiments and a holly berry. Since I wanted seasonal greetings, I used sentiments from The Brightest Glow stamp set. All of the sentiments were stamped using Misty Moonlight. For the card front, I used a rectangle from the Nested Essential Dies on which to stamp my sentiment. I, then, embossed it with the snowflake die from the Magical Meadow Dies. On one of the top center panels, I did a partial stamp of a holly berry from the Magical Meadow stamp set. This stamp, I colored with Stamp and Write Markers to achieve a multicolored image.
I finished up with a small bow using the 1/2″ Silver and White Sheer Ribbon and added a single silver Festive Pearl. When all done, the card folds to a standard 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ size and fits in a standard envelope.
Below is the instructional video demonstrating how to design the card base and assemble your card. There will be some tips of how to use the Pop Out Fun Fold design to vary the look. Further down in the post, you will find a downloadable PDF with the template design, measurements, instructions and supplies. Leave me a comment and let me know what you think of this great fun fold card design!
I hope you were inspired by my Holiday Pop Out Fun Fold. Now, take a few moments and “hop” on to the other sites listed for more inspiration!
