Two Easy Rustic Holiday Cards Using Sophisticated Sled Bundle

This is the time of year that I, actually, start making my cards for the holidays. Today, I wanted to share two easy rustic holiday cards using the Sophisticated Sled Bundle. This bundle is an Online Exclusive that I chose to pair with the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. What a great combination for easy, rustic holiday cards!

Sled and Swag Rustic Holiday Card

For the card base, I chose Misty Moonlight layered with Basic White and Country Woods Designer Series Paper. I used the Country Woods Designer Series Paper to die cut the sled. I wanted to take advantage of the wood grain patterns in the paper.

Next, I stamped the swag using Tuxedo Black Momento Ink. Shaded Spruce, Blueberry Bushel and Real Red Stampin Blends were used to color the image. The sentiment was cut using one of the dies from Greetings of the Season.

On the inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment and added a matching strip of Designer Series Paper.

Sled and skates rustic holiday card

In the card above, I used Shaded Spruce, a more traditional holiday color, for my card base. I added a layer of Basic White that I embossed using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder. The Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder will be.available in the 2024 September – December Mini Catalog on September 4, 2024. However, the Timber 3D Embossing Folder would work just as well.

For the focal point, I die cut the sled using a different pattern from the Country Woods Designer Series Paper. Next, I constructed the skates from die cuts. I used Basic White for the boot, Basic Black for the laces and Silver Foil for the blades. The black Baker’s Twine was perfect to add “laces” to hang the skates. Lastly, I added some greenery with a Black and Vanilla gingham bow. I loved the simple but rustic look to the outside of the card!

For the inside of my card, I added a “stamped off” image of the skates using Smoky Slate. I, then, stamped the sentiment over the image of the skates. I love how it turned out!
